I’m not a huge Madonna fan (ok, I’m not a fan of hers at all) BUT the lady is a big part of the musical landscape so I feel compelled to talk about something that popped up in the news lately.

MadonnaTribe reported this week that the Material One has recorded nine songs so far for the disc, including the lead single, “Give Me All Your Love,” which will feature Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

The album, which she is reportedly recording with old pal William Orbit (Ray of Light) as well as dance veterans Martin Solveg and Benny Benassi, is slated for release early next year and unconfirmed rumors continue to bubble up that Madonna will play the new single when she performs at halftime at next year’s Super Bowl on February 5.

Orbit is notorious for keeping things close to the vest, but he did recently tweet a tantalizing message that appeared to confirm the Super Bowl appearance:

“I hesitate to make a comment about anything musical,” he wrote. “Ya’ll might think is a cryptic tease. But will say: \o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/.”

The obvious cheerleader reference has been taken by Madonnaphiles to either be a confirmation of the appearance at the big game or a hint that the gig will feature some cheerleaders spelling out the singer’s name in the stadium while she plays her new song.

Madge may also be enlisting the help of up-and-comers NERVO for her new album.

Usher was planning to get down at an early Halloween celebration but instead of partaking in the festivities in a positive light, the R&B crooner was met with  a whole lot of (deserved) negativity by a woman who attacked him for parking in a handicapped spot in an Atlanta lot.

TMZ reports that the ‘Raymond v. Raymond’ creator arrived to the Little Points Halloween Parade, where he parked his black SUV into a spot that was reserved for those with a handicap. Seriously Ur-sher? Dude was then met by a screaming woman, who grabbed at his shirt and tried several times to swing her arms at him.

Bystanders dressed in costume — an Elvis impersonator was among them — helped to prevent the woman from getting close to the singer.

According to the video, the woman is taped screaming and attempting to accost the ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love’ performer in front of her child. “You don’t belong here!” the woman screams at Usher. Sources tell TMZ that she was eventually lead away from the fracas by her husband.

I am such a junkie that the World Series isn’t even over yet and I already am missing the game lol. Counting down the days until next spring training (it’s approximately 95 if you’re wondering). Enjoy this incredible version of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” by Yankees great Bernie Williams:
