All of the buzz around Kanye West and Rhymefest’s canned puppet variety show “Alligator Boots,” originally shot for Comedy Central, has centered around Kim Kardashian’s appearance. She’s dressed like Princess Leia from “Star Wars” and Kanye is in a Storm Trooper costume. Kim’s exchange with the puppet Beery White is more lewd than funny, but I get the attention.

But you have to go much deeper into the 9-minute behind-the-scenes video filmed, edited and directed by Konee Rok to uncover the best part, a hilarious song called “Baby In The Club” performed by the character Pork Troy voiced by Rhymefest.

If the thought of puppets in the club is not ridiculous enough, imagine the female puppets either being new mothers or still pregnant. The chorus of the song written by Rhymefest celebrates the proud babymamas: “Baby in the club, she got a baby in the club. Look at that girl with a baby in the club.”

The 51-second making of clip is loaded with good stuff. A purple and pink-haired puppet in Applebottom jeans illustrates the conveniences of wearing a bra-top as she breast feeds her child before taking the kid onto the dance floor. She also uses her baby to help her gain admittance to the nightspot. Pork Troy raps, “That girl 20. Her baby 1. Too young for the club, together they 21.”

Her three background dancers are in their their third trimesters. But the lead female puppet has so much swag that when she leaves the club with Kanye, the rap star puts the car seat in the backseat of his Hummer.

I never thought anyone could top Fantasia’s anthem, “Baby Mama,” but Rhymefest, Kanye, and the Jim Henson puppets have done it.
